Senior Development Nurse,

Bertha is a Senior Development Nurse at South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust. Bertha is an RMN and NMP and is also trained in Behavioural Family Therapy. Her clinical experience is mainly in Adult Acute mental health inpatients and HTT/Crisis Teams. With a background in Teaching she is able to combine this with her Clinical expertise to contribute towards Nurse Education at her Trust. As part of the Nursing Development Team her role includes being Trust Lead for the in-house Preceptorship Programme, the Integrated Career Advance Network Programme (ICAN), Non-Medical Prescribing and the Nursing Frameworks LCAV and the Trust’s Nursing Framework. Bertha is also part of the Trust’s Supervision Training Team and the Family Intervention Training Team (FITT). She is passionate about Practice Development and is always looking at innovative ways to support nurses’ development. She recently completed a Capital Nurse project looking at how to better support Nurses who would like to work past retirement and is in the process of putting together a development programme for experienced nurses in the Trust.
